407. Ryokan Nanjoen, Kurokawa Onsen (pt.2 — second set of baths) Second set of outdoor baths (rotating by gender). Partial view of houses and trees through a fence. The changing room has a facial onsen. Two rectangular baths. Clear water, slightly greenish-cloudy. Temperature is 43.5-44 in the upper bath and 42 in the lower one. There's also some kind of drain bath with cold water. Although the baths aren't stone-built or scenic, having this option adds to the variety in the village overall.

407. Ryokan Nanjoen, Kurokawa Onsen (pt.1 — first set of baths) Visited for higaeri, located in the building next to the tourist center. Higaeri is usually available from 8:30 to 21:00, with rare weekday closures. Included in the Kurokawa tegata. For higaeri, they only let you into the outdoor baths — there are different ones that rotate daily between men and women. They have merch with an anime mascot. The ryokan has its own branded towels.
