Onsen Swings

Hot springs with swings, a rare and playful feature

Some onsen in Japan have swings (buranko, ブランコ), usually wooden ones set near outdoor baths or on the grounds. They let you sway gently while you take in mountain views, forested valleys, or the coast.

Only a handful of facilities across Japan have them. It's a simple thrill paired with a soak, and worth seeking out if you're already nearby.
