15. Okunoyu, Kurokawa Onsen Visited for higaeri. A ryokan with a mixed outdoor bath in Kurokawa, located east of the central area. Higaeri is usually available from 8:30 to 20:00 and 15:30 to 20:00, with up to several closures per week. Included in the Kurokawa tegata. For higaeri, they let you into the main mixed outdoor bath and the adjoining non-mixed indoor bath. Overnight guests have access to another indoor bath and three private baths. The ryokan has its own branded towels. 1. Mixed large outdoor bath zone. Amazing view of the forest, river, and waterfall. Due to the elongated layout of the bath, the panorama of nature is wide, which makes it even more impressive. 1.1. Large main stone bath. Clear, slightly cloudy white-green water. Temperature 42. 1.2. Cave bath with a view. Water temperature 39. 1.3. Small far stone bath with a view of the waterfall. Clear, slightly cloudy white-green water. Temperature 39. 2. Indoor non-mixed bath. Clear, slightly cloudy water, temperature 42. Breathing is good. An incredible outdoor bath zone. If the mixed bathing format doesn't bother you, this is a must-visit.

Day-use available for mixed baths, included in the pass. Water color is milky blue-greenish. Before entering the mixed zone there's a men's indoor bath. The water temperature there is slightly below average, breathing is excellent. After that comes the mixed zone. It has two outdoor baths - one with a forest view, the other with an amazing view of a waterfall, river, and forest. Water temperature in both is hot. There's also a small cave in this zone that you can climb up into and sit with a view of the forest through an opening. Water temperature in the cave is medium, but breathing is a bit difficult. Towel 100 yen. Couldn't find a composition sign. Great place, highly recommend.
