A sodium-led bicarbonate-chloride spring, with the bicarbonate side giving a soft, skin-smoothing feel and the chloride sub-type adding a faintly salty finish. Weakly alkaline at pH 8.0 at the source, it falls within Japan's beauty-water family — pleasantly slippery without sharpness. Moderate mineralization of about 1.7 g/kg means real body to the water while keeping it gentle on the skin.

328. Wakayama Kada Onsen - Seaside Hotel Kadakaigetsu
Stayed overnight, hotel with onsen on the coast in Wakayama. Didn't get food. The hotel overall is quite worn and tired, the room bath was really run-down with failed attempts to patch things up. The onsen issues Toreco cards — at reception they couldn't find them right away but eventually located them in some envelope in the office. Nearby is the setting for the anime Summertime Render.
The onsen rotates M/F. Two bath sets: one full-size and the second has the same functionality but is actually half the size.
1. First main M/F bath set.
1.1. Outdoor bath, clear, slightly cloudy water. Temperature around 38. View of the water and sky, but a full water view is only possible if you stand up from the onsen due to the fence.
1.2. Indoor bath with clear, slightly cloudy water. Very subtle soapy feel. Temperature around 40-41. Breathing is fine.
2. Second reduced M/F bath set. Bath photos from the internet, matches reality.
2.1. Small outdoor bath, clear slightly cloudy water. Temperature around 40. Full water view only if you stand up from the onsen due to the fence.
2.2. Small indoor bath with clear water, temperature around 40.
A questionable place — recommended not to stay here and choose a different hotel with onsen.
