Strongly alkaline at pH 9.6, it gives a pronounced slippery feel and sits in Japan's beauty-water family. With 58 mg/kg of metasilicic acid layered in, it leaves the skin feeling smooth.

280. 旅館いちかわ, Umegashima Visited for higaeri at 600, listed hours 13:00–16:00. They stamp the 60 Onsen of Shizuoka 24/25 booklet. Countryside atmosphere. Outdoor bath with clear water with lime deposits, temperature 41.5, almost no view due to the fence. Indoor bath with clear water, more lime deposits. Temperature 40. Excellent air quality. If you find yourself in this settlement, visiting for higaeri should be a no-brainer.
