Ebisuya Ryokan Spring No.2

Operated by · 本田丈治

Sampled at bath inlet
Sulfur
Classification

Calcium-Sodium-Magnesium Bicarbonate-Sulfate spring

A simple sulfur spring fed by the Ebisuya Ryokan Spring No.2 well. It carries a strong rotten-egg note of hydrogen sulfide and, at the bath inlet, the water is faintly colored and slightly turbid — the cloudy-water family. The chemistry is neutral and hypotonic with light mineralization (185 mg/kg dissolved solids), so the soak itself is gentle, while the sulfur character persists to the bath. The posted bathing indications include chronic skin conditions and chronic women's ailments.

About

Enjoy two types of spring qualities! Wrapped in milky sulfur spring water, warm to the core. Yuya Ebisu in Beppu Myoban Onsen has two types of spring qualities: "sulfur spring" and "simple spring." The "sulfur spring," characterized by a unique smell and milky color, has a peeling effect that moderately removes skin keratin and dirt. The colorless and transparent weak alkaline "simple spring" contains moisturizing components with a beautifying effect. Entering the simple spring after the sulfur spring increases the beautifying effect. This is called "functional bathing" and is a recommended way to enjoy the hot spring. Yuya Ebisu is an excellent hot spring where you can experience this functional bathing only here. Since the Edo period, the facility has healed customers' minds and bodies through hot spring therapy. The large bath on the first floor has an open-air bath, and the large bath on the second floor has an indoor bath with a large sulfur open-air bath, jacuzzi bath, magnesium bath, and many other baths to enjoy. (On odd days, the first-floor open-air bath is for women and the second-floor indoor bath is for men; on even days, the opposite.) In addition, it has the only bedrock bath in Myoban Onsen. There are also five private baths. These private baths are rare open-air sulfur baths in Myoban, allowing you to spend private time leisurely. Please relax while enjoying the view of Beppu Bay from the hilltop open-air and indoor baths.

An onsen complex. They stamp your pass. The outdoor area consists of the following baths: - first stone bath near the exit; - second stone bath a bit further (inside it there's a section for one person sectioned off by stones, with very mild temperature); - a "hut" with another bath, with bubbles in the center; - two tubs with warm water (clear) and one tub with cold water. In the stone baths, the water color is milky, significant smell, hot temperature. A decent view of nature too. You can check out the extras and prices in the photos. Recommended.
