Dinara
A ryokan near the trail to the summit of Mount Tsukuba, with day-use bathing from 11:30 to 15:00, a small restaurant for lunch, and a cafe with ashiyu. There is no rotation of baths, and no sauna. The water is alkaline and very pleasant. The source itself is not especially hot, so it is heated, but because it flows directly from the sacred mountain, it is considered highly therapeutic, rejuvenating, and an "onsen for beautiful women," which makes the skin very soft and beautiful. There is an indoor bath and a very nice rotenburo without a fence, with a view of the forest. Everything is relatively simple, but very pleasant and clean, the food is tasty, with a kind of rustic comfort and very warm, attentive hosts. We were served local specialties, and it was delicious. The rice is also local, from the fields visible from the room.
