A sodium-and-iron chloride spring with bicarbonate softness layered in. It is genuinely iron-rich (about 80 mg/kg of Fe(II)), so the water turns faintly yellow and slightly turbid with a metallic taste once it meets the air. As a cold-mineral source in the low-20 °C range, it is reheated for bathing.

356. Natural Hot Spring Yuan, Kobe
Super sento with onsen water for 840-940 yen, located off the beaten path between Kobe and Himeji. Very inconvenient to get to. Operating hours listed as 10:00 to 24:00. They stamp the 41 Super Sento of Kansai 24/25 book. There's a restaurant, massage, and shop. Baths rotate between men/women — Stone and Wood. I was in the second one. Photos from the internet partially match — I was there in the evening and the water was cloudy orange, while in the photos the color is unclear.
1. Outdoor zone.
1.1. Large bath with cloudy orange water, temperature around 41-42.
1.2. Smaller bath with a TV, cloudy orange water, temperature around 39-40.
1.3. Two barrels.
1.4. Lying-down zone with cloudy orange water.
1.5. Lying-down zone with clear water.
2. Indoor baths. The steam was so thick you couldn't see anything 5-7 meters away, but breathing was tolerable.
2.1. Bath with clear water, temperature around 43-44.
2.2. Bath with clear water with jets and bubbles, temperature around 40-41.
2.3. Sauna.
2.4. Steam room.
2.5. Cold bath.
Cool place, but extremely inconvenient to reach. If you're nearby or local — a worthy choice, but going out of your way is overkill.
