A radon-bearing 'simple weakly radioactive' spring — a small but real dose of Rn places it in the hormesis tradition. Alkaline at pH 9.34, the water has the slippery beauty-water touch despite a light overall mineralization of just 0.242 g/kg. Radon registers at roughly 220 Bq/kg (16.4 Mache units), well above the threshold for a radioactive spring; the source emerges hot at 43 °C.

455. To Sho Ka, Saga Onsen for 1400. Private baths available for an extra 1000-1500 (didn't take them). Operating hours listed as 10:00 to 20:00 (except Tue and Wed). They stamp the 88 Onsen of Kyushu book. Bath photos from the internet, accurate. 1. Outdoor stone bath under a roof, two utaseyu. Partial view of bamboo and trees. Clear water, temperature 40. Has a steam bath. 2. Indoor bath area. Air inside is good, atmosphere is cozy. 2.1. Large bath with clear water, temperature 40. 2.2. Small bath with clear water, temperature 42. 2.3. Wooden bath with clear water, temperature 41. 2.4. Sauna. 2.5. Cold bath. Really great place. Worth visiting if you're in the area. 31.03.2025
