About
A ryokan at the foot of Shibi mountain in Kagoshima, with indoor and open-air baths fed by a private spring 300 meters away, flowing unblended and unheated at full concentration (kakenagashi, 源泉かけ流し). The water is silky and faintly sulfurous, smooth enough on the skin that bathers routinely compare it to lotion. A sauna and cold bath sit alongside the main baths, and some rooms have their own private outdoor baths. Day visitors are welcome.
