Gokuraku Spring

Chloride
Classification

Sodium Chloride spring

A scorching 98 °C sodium chloride source, neutral in pH but richly mineralized at 14.4 g/kg dissolved solids — the kind of body that leaves a salty mineral film on the skin and holds heat long after the soak. Clear at the wellhead, it oxidises into a brown sediment on standing and carries the salty, iron-tinged 'kinki' character that defines Arima's gold-spring tradition. Among Japan's hottest natural sources.

342. Ryokan Hanamusubi, Arima Onsen Visited as higaeri for 1650 (listed hours 12:00-14:30). Private baths available (didn't use them, and probably only for overnight guests). Has M/F bath rotation. Bath photos from the internet, matches reality. 1. Indoor area. Breathing is fine. 1.1. Small bath with cloudy brown water, temperature around 42. 1.2. Bath with clear water, temperature around 43. 2. Outdoor area. No view. 2.1. Small bath with cloudy brown water, temperature around 41.5. 2.2. Barrel bath with cloudy brown water, temperature around 41. 2.3. Two clear water reclining baths. Nice place. Worth considering for a higaeri visit.
