About

A small ryokan at Yunoyama Onsen (湯の山温泉) sitting next to a mountain stream in Mie. The baths rotate between men's and women's use morning and afternoon across three pools, including at least one outdoor bath, plus a single kashikiri (貸切) private bath that day visitors can use as well as overnight guests. The water is clear and comes from an alkaline spring. The inn is a lean, simply run operation with a long-running local feel.

51. Keiryu-no-Yado, Kuranosuske, Yunoyama Onsen Higaeri on the website is listed from 15:00 to 19:00. Paid 1000 for entry, plus small and large towels. Two baths were available: on the first and third floors. The first floor has a cool bath with frogs. Water is clear, hot, breathing is good — there's a powerful ventilation fan that automatically turns off when you open the door and turns on when you close it. A slight smell from the water. On the third floor there's a semi-open bath — it has a view of the trees, but through panoramic glass. The bath itself is small, divided into sections for three people — two for lying down and one regular. Water is hot, clear, with a slight smell. Breathing is comfortable. A solid place — the lower bath really got me with its atmosphere, while the upper one is a bit debatable — it's probably best to go there with a buddy, lying around and chatting (which is exactly what I found two old guys doing there).
