About

A traditional ryokan on the shores of Lake Kawaguchi, with both outdoor and indoor onsen baths. The rotenburo (open-air bath) looks out over the lake, and the two bath sections rotate between men and women on a daily basis. Day use is also available.

169. Yamagishi Ryokan, Kawaguchiko Visited for day-use bathing for 1500 (listed hours 8:00-10:00, 15:00-20:00). They stamp the Yamanashi 100 Onsen book. View from the baths of Lake Kawaguchiko. Indoor bath has comfortable air, clear water, hot+ temperature. Small outdoor bath with clear water, just warm temperature. When I arrived, there were a lot of elderly men at the reception — apparently the ryokan is popular for overnight stays. Given the shortage of onsen right on the lake and the lake view, it makes sense to stop by if you're nearby and the price doesn't bother you.
