Classification

Sodium Carbonate-Chloride spring

A gentle alkaline simple thermal spring. With its high pH it has the slippery feel of Japan's beauty-water family, soft on the skin. It carries a notable 181.6 mg/kg of metasilicic acid, which leaves a thin silica film for noticeably smoother skin afterwards. The water is reheated and chlorine-disinfected, then served as free-flow.

The rotenburo (outdoor bath) is amazing! It's like lying in a lake surrounded by trees - pure bliss! But there are always people around, so you can only find solitude right after the daytime break. The water is interesting, feels slippery due to a pH of 9.3. There are almost no minerals. Temperature is around 41°C. There is also a mizuburo (cold water bath) and a sauna. The floor inside is very slippery❗️ because the shower uses the same slippery onsen water. There's no point in booking a room with a private onsen because the water there is tap water... and they charge an extra 200 euros for that😅💸. Also, I was disappointed that the room has tatami mats everywhere, but you sleep on a mattress🥺 Why not a futon??????😢 We were the only ones in yukata... everyone else wore pajamas or regular clothes. The park is beautiful! Definitely worth a walk. The hotel is always crowded non-stop.

Visited a place from my bucket list. The north delivers, and winter is already here. A reasonably priced ryokan that features a Nebuta sauna and Nebuta in the rotenburo. Inside everything is very cozy, all in wood, two baths at 42 and 39 degrees. Outside there's a rotenburo that extends into a small lake, but you can't go into the lake. Outside there's also a sauna entrance and a small cold bath. They feed you a buffet with all sorts of food, even ice cream. There's also a paid show — highly recommend, it's like a mini matsuri. *First photo is from the internet but the Nebuta figure is there on-site.
