Calcium Sulfate-Chloride spring

A calcium- and sodium-led sulfate spring with a salty chloride edge, giving the water a settled, mineral-rich body. It is neutral and hypotonic, yellow and clear at the source with a faintly metallic taste. With 52.8 mg/kg of metasilicic acid it leaves the kind of thin silica film that makes skin feel a little smoother afterwards.

About

A hotel on the shore of Lake Kawaguchiko with a shared bathhouse that has both an indoor bath and an open-air rotenburo. The men's floor of the rotenburo looks out over the lake toward Mt. Fuji on a clear day. The Senikkei (千一景) villa wing has private open-air baths in its suites, also facing Mt. Fuji.

189. Sunnide Resort Yamanashi, Kawaguchiko Booked for the night, without meals. Located on the north shore of Kawaguchiko. Booking was inconvenient — Japanican was glitchy, and on Rakuten you had to search manually. Not very convenient without a car. Should have great Fuji views, but it wasn't visible most of the time during my stay. In the evening, already in the dark, fairly clear outlines of the mountain appeared, so I've included a photo of Fuji from the website — I'd say it can be confirmed as accurate. The ryokan itself is very tired in a bad way. It's not about old-school vibes — everything inside the room is just heavily worn out, scratched, and scuffed. The onsen is in a separate building on the second floor. Water in all baths is clear, temperature between warm and hot. Indoor bath, should have a Fuji view. Windows were constantly fogged up, breathing inside is comfortable. Outside there's a main rectangular bath (has one additional bottom stream that periodically creates movement on the water surface). Should have a Fuji view from the bath. There's also an additional small octagonal bath (tucked slightly in a nook in the outdoor area). Given the sorry state of the room and the competition at Kawaguchiko among ryokans with Fuji views — this one is not recommended.
