686. Hamachidori-no-yu Kaishu, Shirahama, Wakayama (pt.3) ★★★ Onsen details: 4. Men's bath areas. Photos of baths from the internet match. 4.1. Indoor area. Breathing inside is good - windows can be opened. 4.1.1. Main bath with clear water, temperature around 42. 4.1.2. Wooden bath with a comfortable headrest. Clear water, temperature around 40. 4.1.3. Sauna. 4.2. Outdoor area. 4.2.1. Wooden barrel. A conditional view of the bay through bushes and trees. There's a bit of mold on the barrel itself. Clear water, temperature around 41.5. 4.2.2. Stone bath. Essentially no view due to bushes. Clear water, temperature around 42. 10.11.2025 11.11.2025

686. Hamachidori-no-yu Kaishu, Shirahama, Wakayama (pt.2) ★★★ Onsen details: 2. Private outdoor bath (key on the left). First-come-first-served; the key is in the rest area before the onsen. Return the key after use. View from the bath to the ocean, but through a fence - sitting down, the view disappears. Clear water, temperature around 42.5. 3. Private outdoor bath (key on the right). Same system as the first private bath. There's a view of the bay, but it disappears when you sit in the bath. Clear water, temperature around 42-43. 10.11.2025 11.11.2025

686. Hamachidori-no-yu Kaishu, Shirahama, Wakayama (pt.1) ★★★ Stayed overnight. Higaeri hours are 17:00-21:00. They used to sell the Wakayama 12 Onsen stamp book but stopped participating. Expectations for the onsen were high, but quite low for the stay itself. So I took a simple business room with kaiseki for one. The food turned out to be weak - nothing terrible, but below average and not particularly tasty. The place itself beyond the onsen turned out to be nicer and better than expected. It was quite comfortable. The simple room was also appropriate and convenient. Lots of guests at the hotel, especially around check-in, check-out, and meal times, but manageable. Staff was diverse: from Japan, China, and India. The Japanese staff was very courteous and high on service; had minimal interaction with Chinese staff; the Indian staff at check-out was disappointing - clearly no desire to work hard. The main highlight of the hotel is the mixed stone bath with an ocean view. And it's magnificent. The view, the atmosphere, and few people go there because of its konyoku status. This bath is what makes this place a top-tier must-visit as an onsen facility, outweighing all the hotel shortcomings. But the higaeri slot is inconvenient - right at peak hour, so it's better to visit with an overnight stay to fully enjoy the main bath and other onsens. Onsen details: 1. Outdoor mixed top-tier stone bath. Magnificent ocean view. There's a lying-down area in the bath. Special bathing attire must be worn (available in the changing room). Clear water, temperature around 41. 10.11.2025 11.11.2025
