About

A day-use bathing facility in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture. It has a natural hot spring (sodium chloride spring) that emerged from 1,620 m underground in December 2017. The rotenburo "Ueno-yu" offers kakenagashi from the source. The facility includes an open-air bath surrounded by a hinoki forest, an indoor bath with a löyly sauna, high-concentration carbonated spring, electric bath, and the region's largest purgama and ganbanyoku (thermal rooms). The restaurant "Gohanya Fugen" serves kamado-cooked rice and dishes using Ibaraki ingredients. Admission is allowed from elementary school age and above (preschool children not allowed).
