A city-run bath in the Shimizu forest park Yasuragi no Mori (やすらぎの森), right by the clear Kurokawa stream and named after the yamasemi (ヤマセミ, crested kingfisher) that lives along it. The sodium calcium chloride spring rises at about 30 degrees, and one of the open-air tubs pours it as is, a proper lukewarm soak, while rotating specialty baths use bamboo charcoal and bamboo vinegar from the surrounding groves. It is also one of the rare Japanese public baths with a formal policy of never turning away guests with tattoos.
