About

Lamp no Yado (ランプの宿) sits on a cliff above the Sea of Japan in Noto, a place that used to be accessible only by boat. The cave bath is the signature experience: a natural grotto cut into the cliff face where you soak while waves work just below. Private reserved rotenburo and in-room open-air baths look straight out to the ocean, and the shared indoor baths face the same view. The ryokan takes its name from its lantern-lit atmosphere; rooms have no TV or fridge, keeping the focus on the sea. Guests must be junior-high age or older. The ryokan has been closed since the January 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake, with no reopening date announced.
