A simple sulfur spring fed by the Ebisuya Ryokan Spring No.2 well. It carries a strong rotten-egg note of hydrogen sulfide and, at the bath inlet, the water is faintly colored and slightly turbid — the cloudy-water family. The chemistry is neutral and hypotonic with light mineralization (185 mg/kg dissolved solids), so the soak itself is gentle, while the sulfur character persists to the bath. The posted bathing indications include chronic skin conditions and chronic women's ailments.

About

Enjoy two types of spring qualities! Wrapped in milky sulfur spring water, warm to the core. Yuya Ebisu in Beppu Myoban Onsen has two types of spring qualities: "sulfur spring" and "simple spring." The "sulfur spring," characterized by a unique smell and milky color, has a peeling effect that moderately removes skin keratin and dirt. The colorless and transparent weak alkaline "simple spring" contains moisturizing components with a beautifying effect. Entering the simple spring after the sulfur spring increases the beautifying effect. This is called "functional bathing" and is a recommended way to enjoy the hot spring. Yuya Ebisu is an excellent hot spring where you can experience this functional bathing only here. Since the Edo period, the facility has healed customers' minds and bodies through hot spring therapy. The large bath on the first floor has an open-air bath, and the large bath on the second floor has an indoor bath with a large sulfur open-air bath, jacuzzi bath, magnesium bath, and many other baths to enjoy. (On odd days, the first-floor open-air bath is for women and the second-floor indoor bath is for men; on even days, the opposite.) In addition, it has the only bedrock bath in Myoban Onsen. There are also five private baths. These private baths are rare open-air sulfur baths in Myoban, allowing you to spend private time leisurely. Please relax while enjoying the view of Beppu Bay from the hilltop open-air and indoor baths.

21. Ebisuya Onsen, Beppu ★★ Onsen complex for ¥1300. There are private baths in a separate section for ¥2000-2500 (I did not use them). Opening hours are listed as 10:00 to 22:00 (last entry 21:00). There is massage, a chill-out area, and a cafe. There is a ganbanyoku. They stamp the Beppu onsen stamp rally. It participates in Onsen Tamagodo. There are two different sets of public baths, which alternate daily by men and women, one set with an open view and one set without. 1. First set of baths by men and women (with an open view). The bath photos from the internet match. 1.1. The nearer outdoor stone bath. Through the fence you can see a bridge and trees. The water is cloudy milky blue, with the proper onsen sulfur smell. Temperature 44. 1.2. The farther outdoor stone bath. Through the fence there is a view of trees, and you can see the bridge. The water is cloudy milky blue, with the proper onsen sulfur smell. Temperature 40. 1.3. Small stone bath inside the main one. The water is the same, temperature 32.5. 1.4. Barrel bath with clear water, temperature 45. 1.5. Barrel bath with clear water, temperature 47. 1.6. Cold water barrel bath. 1.7. Polygonal bath in a small building with bubbles. The water is clear, temperature 43. 2. Second set of baths by men and women (without an open view). 2.1. Indoor area. It is easy to breathe inside. 2.1.1. Sitting bath with a view of the bridge through scratched glass. The water is clear. On different visits the temperature varied a lot, 45.5/39. 2.1.2. Stone bath, divided in half. The water is cloudy milky blue, with the proper onsen sulfur smell. Temperature, one half 40/41, the other 39.5/41. 2.1.3. Stone bath with bubbles. The water is clear, temperature 41/37.5. 2.1.4. Cold bath. 2.2. Semi-open bath, no view. Stone bath, with a large stone block in the middle of the bath, so in practice there are two small places to immerse yourself in the water from opposite ends of the bath. The water is cloudy milky blue, with the proper onsen sulfur smell. Temperature, one cavity 41.5/38, the other 42.5/41. A cool place with powerful baths that also change by men and women. Recommended for a visit. 28.12.2023 04.01.2026 31.03.2026 01.04.2026
