A ryokan on a hill near Nagoya with unreal views of the bay, mountains, and city lights along the coast. Quite budget-friendly yet the service is top-notch. Probably not very popular due to its location. Several rooms have private rotenburo (open-air baths) on the balcony with a view. There are also very affordable single rooms for solo travelers. Two communal onsens - one on the rooftop and one on the first floor. The rooftop one is a rotenburo with an amazing view, although it has a glass fence. The lower one is a good indoor onsen with a sauna (which was under maintenance). No cold baths. Kaiseki meals of several varieties are served in the restaurant with a splendid view. The kaiseki itself was decent, though I've had better. All the staff were excellent, surprisingly all Japanese. In the evening, entertainment included a telescope and a gentleman who showed the stars.
