351. Taikou-no-Yu Hot Spring, Arima Onsen Super sento with onsen water for 1980-3300 yen (depending on day and time) in Arima Onsen. Operating hours listed as 10:00 to 22:00 (though on my first visit, I and a number of locals couldn't get in — it was an unexpected day off). The place is designed to handle potentially large crowds, so it's better to come on weekdays and early or late (it was comfortable arriving at opening in the morning). There's a restaurant, massage, chill zones, manga, a shop, massage chairs, and yukata. There's a stone bath. Photos of the baths from the internet match for the outdoor baths and partially match for the indoor baths — the orientation differs (possibly photos from the women's section). 1. Outdoor zone. No view, but cozy. 1.1. Stone bath with cloudy brown water, temperature around 42. 1.2. Shallow bath by the bridge with clear water, temperature around 39-40. 1.3. Bath by the bridge with clear water, temperature around 39-40. 1.4. Three small barrels, slightly cloudy clear water, temperature around 40. 1.5. Round carbonated bath with clear water, temperature around 38. 1.6. Sitting area with flowing water. 2. Indoor zone. Breathing is good. 2.1. Bath with cloudy brown water, temperature around 42-43. 2.2. Bath split into two sections with clear water, both zones at temperature around 40. 2.3. Two saunas. 2.4. Cold bath. A solid place — recommended if you can visit without the crowds. The price is inflated, clearly aimed at tourists who come here in droves. Not recommended during peak hours.
