Shizuoka NURU-YU Stamp Rally 2026 — A Summer of Gentle, Lukewarm Hot Springs
Shizuoka — the prefecture that gives us Mount Fuji, the Izu Peninsula, and some of the most varied hot springs in Japan — is preparing a summer treat for onsen lovers. The Shizuoka Prefecture Onsen Association is planning the NURU-YU Stamp Rally 2026, a summer campaign built around the prefecture's nuru-yu.
Heads up: This is an upcoming event and details are still being finalized. Dates and rules below are tentative — we'll update this page as the association publishes the full program.
What is nuru-yu?
Nuru-yu (ぬる湯) are gentle, low-temperature hot springs — typically warm rather than hot, cool enough to stay submerged for a long, unhurried soak. In the heat of a Japanese summer, that's exactly the point: instead of a quick, sweltering dip, you settle in and let a softly warm spring relax you. It's onsen culture tuned for the season — refreshing, unwinding, and easy on the body.
Shizuoka is an ideal home for a campaign like this, with hot spring areas spread from the Izu coast to the foothills of Mount Fuji.
How the stamp rally works
The format is the classic Japanese stamp rally: visit participating nuru-yu across Shizuoka, collect stamps as you go, and earn a chance to win prizes. It's a relaxed way to explore the prefecture's hot springs over the course of the summer — soak, collect, repeat.
