121. Sakura-yu, Beppu An onsen complex with a public bath and 20(!) private baths. I went for the public one, costs 500. They give a stamp. A cat sleeps at the reception. The indoor bath is partly made of stone. Breathing is bearable. The outdoor bath is made of stone, on par with a decent ryokan without a view. Water is clear, hot. If you're in Beppu and need a lot of different private baths, it's hard to find a more packed place.
