Chuzenji Kanaya Hotel sits on the shore of Lake Chuzenji inside Nikko National Park, surrounded by mizunara oak woodland. The signature open-air bath, Soroburo (空ぶろ), is set among the trees; both the indoor bath and the outdoor rock bath run on unrecirculated sulfur water piped in from the Yumoto springs roughly 12 kilometers away in the Oku-Nikko highlands. A sauna is also available for each side. Day-use bathing is open to visitors who are not staying overnight.
