A sodium-calcium chloride spring with bicarbonate softness layered in. It is weakly alkaline and soft on the skin, colorless and clear with only a very faint salty tang. A generous 236 mg/kg of metasilicic acid leaves the kind of silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother, placing it in the Japanese beauty-water family.

Booked this as a budget hotel option near the station (10 min) and near the sand onsen Takegawara (3 min). It has an onsen, day-use should be available, they stamp your pass. On the 6th floor there's one large indoor bath and an exit to a small outdoor one (on a balcony with a fence). Water temperature is normal, the water is slightly cloudy but colorless. Not much smell. Breathing in the indoor bath is fine. The indoor bath has a floor-to-ceiling window on the main side, but in the evening it's basically just a black background. During the day it's probably nice because of all the natural light. The onsen is decent for a hotel, but otherwise you can skip it.
