Shimanto Yamamizuki sits on a hillside above the southern tip of Shikoku, where the Shimanto River widens into the Pacific. The baths run on free-flowing source water (kakenagashi, 掛け流し): an open-air rotenburo (露天風呂) and bookable private baths in hinoki cypress and stone. From the water you look straight out over the river mouth and the coast. The facility is a glamping and cottage resort, so the onsen is for guests staying overnight.
