An alkaline simple thermal spring with notable sodium content, delivered at 43.8 degrees C as a hot source. Weakly alkaline and soft on the skin, colorless, transparent and odorless — the panel describes it as gentle enough for any bather. Flowing at 106 L/min, the source feeds the men's, women's and family baths entirely as untreated free-flow.

383. Sachigaoka, Hinagu Onsen, Kumamoto Old-school onsen for 500 yen in an onsen village full of Kumamon figures. Operating hours listed as 10:00 to 20:30 (closed Tuesdays). They stamp the 88 Onsen of Kyushu book. The old owner is proud of his onsen and very welcoming. Bath with clear, slightly cloudy water, temperature around 43.5. Breathing is excellent. The shower also uses onsen water — in winter it runs cold at first but gradually gets warmer.
