A simple thermal spring drawn from Beppu's city-owned Unsenji wellhead and other sources, blended in a storage tank before it reaches the baths. Neutral in pH and only lightly mineralized, it is soft, unaggressive water. What lifts it is silica: metasilicic acid at 159 mg/kg puts it in Japan's beauty-water family, leaving the thin mineral film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother afterwards. The certificate's sample was drawn at the storage-tank outlet rather than at the wellhead, so these figures describe the blend as it is delivered.
