Shinsoyuonsen Shiunnosato (深層湯温泉 紫雲の郷) is a large bathing complex in Shibata, Niigata, pulling natural spring water up from about 1,300 m below ground. The water is dense and noticeably salty on the skin. There are two indoor baths (Fujitsukanoyu and Shiunnoyu) that swap between the men's and women's sides on a two-week rotation, a rotenburo carved from a single large stone, a jet bath, a cold bath, and a sauna that was refitted in 2022. A separate wing holds a 25 m lap pool, a children's pool, a bardepool, utaseyu (打たせ湯, a standing waterfall shower), and a steam sauna.
