About

The indoor bath here runs on a sulfur spring whose water changes color several times a day, cycling through milky white, white-green, and jade. The inn drains and refills it daily, which is what makes the color shifts visible, and the water flows through without recirculation. The open-air bath, Yogo-no-yu (陽向の湯), is not fed by the spring but sits above the coast with a wide view of the sea and, on clear days, Mt. Fuji in the distance. One room type has its own open-air bath with the spring water. The inn limits itself to four groups a day and has been running since 1962, when the founder came across the spring near the local Benzaiten shrine.
