About
A day-use onsen on the Kaminoseki Strait (上関海峡, Kaminoseki Kaikyo) with a clear view of ships and the bridge from the outdoor bath. The two bath halls, one stone and one wood, swap between men and women each week. The outdoor rotenburo draws from a separate iron-rich spring; the water turns a deep rust-orange in the air and leaves a smooth, lightly salty feel on the skin. A private bath (kashikiri, 家族風呂) with a balcony is available by reservation, and there is a sauna, cold bath, and a restaurant on site.
