250. Funabarakan, Izu Visited for higaeri at 800 (listed hours 13:30–16:00). I arrived earlier than the higaeri slot but they let me in, though they warned that the bath was being cleaned. There are several old and interesting onsen magazines in the lobby. They stamp the 60+6 Onsen of Shizuoka 24/25 booklet. The indoor bath was undergoing cleaning. This means natural water replacement by increasing the incoming water flow, so the water essentially replaces itself. Turned out to be an unexpectedly new experience and format. Clear water inside, temperature closer to the water source 43.5, a bit further away 43. Through the open window you could see the ryokan courtyard where someone was walking near a car. Outdoor bath with clear water, temperature 41. By default there's not much of a view, but if you stand up you can catch a bit of a shabby one. Getting the cleaning slot was pretty fun, but otherwise this seems like a place to skip.
