90. Irie Onsen, Beppu ★ An old-school onsen for ¥200. Opening hours are listed as 07:00 to 10:00 and 12:00 to 22:00 (October to March), 06:00 to 10:00 and 12:00 to 22:00 (April to September), and 06:00 to 22:00 (Wednesday). They stamp the Beppu Onsen-do seal (instead of a stamp, there are stickers with a seal image). No staff, no shower. No water analysis table. The water is clear, with only a barely noticeable slight turbidity. Temperature was 44.5. In January, there were citrus fruits in the bath. It was comfortable to breathe inside.
