A sodium chloride spring carrying dissolved sulfur — classed as a sulfur-bearing sodium-chloride water. At pH 9.1 it is alkaline with the slippery beauty-water feel on the skin, and the dissolved hydrogen sulfide gives it a sulfurous taste and the characteristic rotten-egg note. 515. 奈良田温泉 白根館, Hayakawa, Yamanashi ★★ Onsen for 1000. Operating hours are listed as 10:30 to 17:00 (Sat-Sun) and 10:30 to 16:00 (weekdays), but may be closed on a random day. They stamp the Yamanashi 100 Onsen book. They stamp the Hayakawa towel. Bath photos are from the internet, match the real thing. Outdoor bath with a wooden frame along the edge. Standing up, there's a pleasant view of trees and mountains; sitting down, the view is lost behind bushes. Clear water with occasional fine white mineral deposits, faint sulfurous onsen smell, has a soapy feel. Temperature around 40. Indoor bath split into two by a partition.
