Classification

Sodium Chloride-Bicarbonate spring

A sodium-led chloride spring with bicarbonate softness layered in, giving the water a rounder feel than salinity alone would suggest. Weakly alkaline and soft on the skin, it carries moderate mineralization with noticeable body. At the wellhead the water shows a faint metallic iron note in taste and smell, and a respectable 58.9 mg/kg of metasilicic acid leaves the kind of thin film that makes skin feel smoother afterwards.

532. 韮崎旭温泉 韮崎旭の湯, Nirasaki, Yamanashi ★ Onsen for 700. Operating hours are listed as 10:00 to 20:00 (closed Tue and Fri). They stamp the Yamanashi 100 Onsen book, but the stamp is badly worn. Bath photo is from the internet, matches the real thing. Mt. Fuji view everywhere: behind the building, from the balcony in the onsen, and from the onsen through the glass (standing up). Indoor bath with clear water, temperature around 38. Breathing inside is good. Mt. Fuji through the glass is only visible standing; sitting in the bath, the fence blocks the view. Cool place. If Mt. Fuji is visible and you're nearby, definitely worth a visit. 11.05.2025
