800 yen for adults; call ahead if you're worried about the baths being crowded.
Uses natural hot spring water
Open-air outdoor bath
Site lists only two indoor baths (内風呂2カ所) as the bathing facilities; no outdoor bath mentioned. Corroborated by 2026 reviews describing the bath as 内湯のみ (indoor-only).
Enclosed indoor bathing area
Shared bathing area for all genders
Two separate indoor baths at a small ryokan implies the standard gender-separated layout; no mixed-bathing (混浴) mention anywhere on the site or in the five reviews.
Shower, wash stations, soap and shampoo provided
Umeya is a small ryokan in Katashina, on the Gunma side of the Oze trekking area, open since the early 1970s. The bath is fed straight from the property's own sulfur-alkaline spring, kept unheated so the water runs cool and shifts with the season, good for settling into a long soak. There are two indoor baths only, no outdoor one, each looking out to the surrounding mountains.
