Hotel Shion sits on the edge of Gosho-ko lake with Mt. Iwate visible across the water. There are two distinct bath floors: the large floor-2 area has indoor baths, an outdoor rotenburo, and a silk bath, while the floor-3 wing has a covered open-air bath with a waterfall spout. The baths alternate daily between men and women. The spring water flows unrecirculated and is notably soft. Guests staying overnight can reserve a private outdoor bath, and the top-floor premium rooms have their own in-room rotenburo and indoor bath.
