The ryokan sits beside the Tangegawa river in the mountains of Gunma, with outdoor baths overlooking the rushing water and a separate bath facing a waterfall. The men's and women's sections swap at night, so a single stay covers both views. There are also two private reserved baths and one room with its own outdoor tub. The water is clear and smooth on the skin. The building uses local timber throughout, and the inn is a member of Nihon Hito wo Mamoru Kai (日本秘湯を守る会), the association for preserving Japan's lesser-known hot springs.
