Tange Onsen Misatokan sits at the end of a forested valley in Gunma, with the Tange River running alongside. The baths are the main draw: a large indoor pool (Se-oto no Yu, 瀬音の湯), a big open-air bath facing the moon and trees (Tsukimi no Yu, 月見の湯), a pair of waterfall-view baths (Takimi no Yu, 滝見の湯), and two reserved baths (Hosen no Yu, 宝泉の湯) for private use. One room also has its own outdoor bath. The inn is a member of Nihon Hito wo Mamoru Kai (日本秘湯を守る会), the association dedicated to preserving remote hot springs, and the building uses centuries-old keyaki and nara timber throughout. Day-use bathing is not available; this is a stay-only place.
