Ichitaro no Yu (市太郎の湯) sits within Tenshukaku Natural Park (天守閣自然公園) in Akiu Onsen, just outside Sendai. The golden-colored water comes from a chloride spring, and there are three bath options: an indoor bath with a woody scent, a semi-open outdoor bath, and a fully open-air rotenburo, all set among trees. On weekends from spring through autumn, a private reserved bath (kashikiri, 貸切) is also available for groups. Admission includes entry to a large strolling garden, where foot baths are scattered along the paths. A soba restaurant is on site.
