Utsumi-Sankai Onsen Well No. 1
Sampled at wellhead
Chloride

A sodium chloride strong-salt spring drawn from roughly 1,300 m below ground. The source emerges at 27.2 C and is heated for bathing, but the chemistry is anything but mild — hypertonic mineralization above ocean salinity leaves a thick mineral film on the skin long after the soak. Locally called a fossil-water spring and the chōju-no-yu (longevity spring), this is the sort of strongly mineralized chloride water traditionally invoked for nerve pain, muscle aches, and poor circulation.

Ryokan in Minami-Chita, Aichi Concept - interior and historical period based on the Tale of Genji + traditional incense. Quotes and artifacts of the Minamoto clan at every corner. The ryokan itself is very clean and stylish, with large rooms, sea views, and the sound of waves. Each room has a set of several incense sticks, unusual! On the roof, there is a rotenburo (outdoor bath), barrels, and a very comfortable reclining bath with full immersion in water. 42 degrees Celsius. There is a sauna (no cold bath). One floor below is a smaller indoor bath. Free ice cream after the bath. Remarkably, all the staff are Japanese, and the service is at a high level. I took breakfast - very delicious Japanese style in a separate room. There is an Onsen Musume dressed in thematic kimono 👘 for enthusiasts.
