Classification

Sodium-Calcium Chloride spring

A sodium-calcium chloride spring drawn from a 25.3 °C wellhead beneath the Banpaku Expo park. Neutral pH and a salty, mineral-tinged taste reflect 6.3 g/kg of dissolved solids — moderately mineralized with noticeable body. Because the source itself is classed as a low-temperature spring (under 34 °C), the water is heated before bathing. A generous 117 mg/kg of metasilicic acid puts it in the Japanese 'beauty-water' family, leaving a thin silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother afterwards.

308. GENKIONSEN BANPAKU OYUBA, Osaka Super sento with natural hot spring water for 870-970, 40-50 minutes from Osaka station. Operating hours listed as 10:00-01:00. They stamp the 41 Kansai Super Sento stamp rally 24/25. Has a restaurant, massage (got one — they did a good job), massage chairs, chill zones, and a gift shop. Has a stone bath. Bath photos from the internet, matches reality. 1. Outdoor area, no view. 1.1. Large shallow multi-level bath with a stone cone in the center, cloudy white-brown water, temperature around 40. 1.2. Rectangular bath with cloudy white-brown water, temperature around 40. 1.3. Round silk bath. 1.4. Steam bath. 1.5. Rectangular carbonated bath with a sign in the center, temperature around 38. 2. Indoor area. 2.1. Main bath, clear water, temperature around 40. 2.2. Additional bath, clear water, temperature around 36. 2.3. Three seated jet baths, temperature around 38. 2.4. Two standing jet baths, temperature around 39. 2.5. Sauna. 2.6. Cold bath. Interesting place — the water and rotenburo are unusual, worth considering for trips near Osaka.
