YesThe bath closes for maintenance two days a month; in 2026 that falls on July 15-16, August 19-20, September 9-10 and December 16-17 (on the 15th, 19th, 9th and 16th of those months it stays open just 6:00-10:00 instead of the full day). No closures are planned for October or November 2026. The restaurant is closed on Thursdays.
Adult day-use entry is 700 yen on weekdays, rising to 800 yen on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and during Golden Week (5/3-5/6), Obon (8/10-8/16) and the New Year period (12/29-1/4). Children pay 350 yen. A 50 yen discount coupon is available on the official site.

Home page markets it as kakenagashi, but the spa detail page states the indoor bath water is treated with circulation/filtration and sodium hypochlorite for hygiene, and only the outdoor bath runs heating-circulation only (no chlorine) - so it is not a straightforward source-fed flow-through bath.

Akebi-no-yu is a small ryokan in Obuse that also welcomes day-trippers into its baths. There's an indoor bath, an outdoor bath, a sauna and a small cold-water tub alongside it. The outdoor bath faces a row of peaks in northern Shinshu, and the sulfur water itself changes character day to day, sometimes running clear, sometimes tinted green or turning milky white. It feels more like a neighborhood bath than a resort: local regulars soak alongside guests, and a restaurant and rest area upstairs make it easy to linger after a dip.
