A sodium chloride spring drawn from Beppu City's Kannawa supply network. The salty, heat-retaining chloride water sits at the centre of the local bathing tradition; the public posting lists it simply as a chloride spring, and Sujiyu serves it as free-flowing, undiluted source water with no recirculation or dilution.

78. Sujiyu Onsen, Beppu ★ An old-school onsen for ¥100. The stated hours are 06:30 to 20:00. They stamp the Beppu Onsen-do seal. No staff, no shower. No water composition board. The water is clear, and the temperature is 43. In January there were citrus fruits in the bath. It is easy to breathe inside.
