About

The name says it all: "tsuruntsurun" (つるんつるん) means silky smooth, and bathers consistently say their skin feels exactly that way after a soak. The water is a deep amber-brown and leaves a noticeably soft feel on the skin. This small ryokan holds a quiet distinction as the only spring in Chiba listed in Japan's Meito Hyakusen (名湯百選, the 100 famous hot springs). The bath itself is indoor only, cozy enough to feel full with around ten people. The rest area doubles as a gathering spot for locals, and the attached campsite makes it a natural stop for anyone exploring the Boso Peninsula.
