Nigorigo Onsen Municipal Open-Air Bath (濁河温泉 市営露天風呂, Nigorigo Onsen Shiei Rotenburo) is a simple, city-run outdoor bath high on the Hida side of Mt. Ontake. Separate large pools for men and women sit in the middle of old-growth forest, giving the soak a genuinely wild feel. The whole place only runs from late spring to early autumn, so the season itself is part of the experience.
