A mountain resort in Japanese style. Many foreigners among the staff and guests. Not the place for Japanese authenticity. But cozy. All rooms have mountain views. A decently sized rotenburo (outdoor hot spring bath) and two baths, one at +45 degrees Celsius. Spacious indoor onsen area, sauna. The women's and men's areas do not change. There are two private rotenburo.

A ryokan in Okuhida's Hirayu area, at the foot of the North Alps. The spring water is kakenagashi (源泉かけ流し), kept flowing fresh, and feels noticeably silky. Bathing options include a large outdoor bath with mountain views, a communal indoor bath, complimentary private baths (kashikiri, 貸切), and onsen in guest rooms. Guests can also use the baths at the nearby sister property Hirayu-kan. The interiors use Hida timber throughout, and evenings center on local Hida wagyu and mountain produce cooked around an irori (囲炉裏) hearth.
