Miyama Ouan

A mountain resort in Japanese style. Many foreigners among the staff and guests. Not the place for Japanese authenticity. But cozy. All rooms have mountain views. A decently sized rotenburo (outdoor hot spring bath) and two baths, one at +45 degrees Celsius. Spacious indoor onsen area, sauna. The women's and men's areas do not change. There is no regular higaeri, but the public bath is available if you stay at the partner ryokan Hirayukan. In return, the baths at Hirayukan are also available for higaeri guests staying at Miyama Ouan. Outside, after the lobby, there is an onsen lake, unfortunately for viewing only. I booked a room with an in-room onsen, and you need to check carefully when booking, because rooms with exactly the same bath also exist with heated tap water. Guests can also use 4 private baths on a first-come, first-served basis. The place is in good, fresh condition, it does not feel like a chain property. The service was also pretty good. I took a meal for one, the kaiseki was tasty, I liked it. It was served in a separate shared dining room. About the onsens: 1. Private barrel bath in the room. The water is clear, temperature 44.5. There are taps for supplying different water and adjusting the temperature, and also a stick for stirring. It is a bit stuffy inside, but you can open the window and the air becomes great. In cold weather, when the window was opened, there was a cool effect, the room immediately filled with very dense steam. 2. The first outdoor private stone bath.
