About
A riverside wild onsen in the Myoken Onsen area of Kirishima, reached by a narrow single-lane road that keeps the crowds away. The water is mild and mineral-rich -- around 39 degrees, with sandy sediment on the bottom -- and the setting is naturally tranquil. It flows or dries depending on conditions, so some visits are a miss, but when it's running it has real atmosphere.
