About

Minshuku Wakatake (民宿わかたけ) sits in Tsubaki Onsen, a spring whose history is recorded in an 1839 survey of the Kii region. The indoor baths are separate for men and women and draw on sulfur water from the Horayu (蓬莱湯) spring. With only three Japanese-style rooms, all facing the sea, the place stays quiet and unhurried. Downstairs, a seafood izakaya that locals frequent rounds out the stay.
